Day 35: #100HappyDays
Happiness is Kwik Sew 3308!
I’ve had this pattern in my stash for at least two years. I was originally planning to make view A out of some dark brown satiny material, but today I decided to try it in the fake Missoni fabric that I scored at last week’s rummage sale. I wanted to use the hemline in view C and thought that something with some stretch would be a little more forgiving if I cut my hips wrong.
I made view A with the view C hemline and cut a size small that I graded out to medium at the hips. The pattern was relatively straight forward and easy except for the collar application. I had to read the directions for that step out loud multiple times, but I finally got it. The armholes ended up being huge and gaping, and so I took each side in about 3 inches up top. I probably could have cut the extra small size up top, but I definitely needed the medium at the hips.
I really do love this top–it’s a nice option to a halter top. I love that my pale back is covered and I love the hemline. I will be making more of these, but I am going to stick to using stretch fabric for this one.
