Mini-Wardrobe Contest: Piece #1
I’ve got one piece down and three to go for Pattern Review’s Mini-Wardrobe Contest. I just made Vogue 2934 out of a wool blend that I bought from http://www.fabrics.com. Although it looks brighter in the photo, it’s a deep plum color , with specks of gold throughout. I was afraid this pattern might turn-out too boxy, but I really do like it. It’s kind of a cross between a cape and a jacket.
I followed the pattern instructions, but decided to use fusible interfacing instead of the called for hair-canvas. This saved a few steps and worked pretty well. I also shortened the sleeves about two inches. There was a lot of hand-sewing in this pattern. A lot. The lining is hand sewn in, but it was totally worth it. The lining makes it look so finished. I’ll be making this one again!!
