Sewapalooza Project 3: Kwik Sew 3760
For the grand finale of my Labor Day weekend Sewapalooza I made Kwik Sew 3760!!! I have had this pattern in my stash for at least two years (maybe longer), but I have recently become a little braver where zippers are concerned. Last week I bought some navy pinstripe gabardene on clearance at Hancock Fabrics. When I decided to take on the Kwik Sew, I went back to Hancocks and got some matchching solid navy suiting to use as contrast.
This was my first Kwik Sew pattern, but it won’t be my last. The directions were great!! The fabric frayed like crazy, so I ended up serging all the raw edges. Finally the zipper….I have not mastered the invisible zipper, but I am getting better. Slowly. Maybe after I do ten or fifteen more, I’ll be able to put in a zipper without cursing and scaring the dogs!!
This Kwik Sew victory has emboldened me, and I have decided to try the Pattern Review Mini Wardrobe Contest. Heaven help me–I’m not sure I’ve got the chops for this, but I so love a goal.
