Labor Day Weekend Sewapalooza

September 1, 2013

I’ve got big plans for this three day weekend. I am going to sew, sew, and sew some more. This sewapalooza began yesterday. I started by trying to use up a little piece of stretch denim that I had left over from another project. I wanted to make a simple, elastic-waist skirt. I had just enough fabric to accomplish this, but for some unknown reason I cut my two pieces out going against the grain. Not good, and I still have no idea what possessed me. Well I didn’t want to throw in the towel, so I got a little creative and my two piece pattern became a six piece pattern. Then, since I can not seem to get enough of Urban Threads designs, I embroidered the Anima Raven on the side of the skirt.
