Ta Da!! Here is my new Christmas Tree Skirt! Since it’s July, no Christmas trees were available for the photo, so the geranium from the front porch stood in. I’ve had the fabric and the idea (to make a Christmas tree skirt) for a year or so, but I never got around to it. But then something changed!!! A few weeks ago I got A NEW SEWING MACHINE!!!! and I am working on learning how to use it. So, I wanted to make something that was relatively easy to put together, but also required a whole lot of seams. Thus the Christmas Tree Skirt came to be. Please do not look too closely because I am not a skilled quilter. And I realize that skirts are supposed to be round, but we have a square place for our tree (in a corner beside a couch and a chair), so I went with a square skirt.
I am very excited about the button holes. This new machine makes gloriously beautiful button holes. Behold the button hole:
I like the way it looks. Now I just wonder how long it will take my husband to realize that there’s a geranium wrapped in a Christmas tree skirt sitting in the middle of our living room.
