It’s been a busy month…
Over the past month we’ve had a few out-of-town visitors, and between the visitors and work, I was sewing furiously to get ready for last weekend’s craft fair. Each fall my mom and I participate in a holiday craft fair down in Garner, NC. It’s lots of fun once I get there, but getting ready for it involves an October of frantic sewing. One would think that I might start getting ready for this thing earlier in the year, but somehow that never seems to happen.
So here are some pics of my goods. I made multiple table runners–some with wool pumpkins and leaves and others with Urban Thread designs. They sold pretty well.
I upcycled some men’s wool sports jackets and made these owl purses. I was able to use the actual pockets and buttons from the jackets. I really liked how they turned out.
And to continue with the owl theme, I made a bunch of these little owlet pincushions. They were probably my best sellers.
My cupcake pincushions got a lot of comments, but didn’t sell so well.
Nor did my slapbracelet pincushions, but I think it’s just a matter of time until these things catch on. What’s not to love about a slapbracelet pincushion????
And of course, since it was a holiday craft fair, I made some Chrsitmas stockings. On some I used some Accuquilt dies.
And then I made a few semi-edgy ones with some Urban Threads designs.
Now that the holiday craft fair is over, I feel like the holiday season is actually here. It’s funn, but there’s something about intense periods of crazy sewing that put me in the holiday state of mind. Actually, it’s hard for me to imagine holiday season without homemade gifts. Are you making any this year? I’ve got a couple that I need to get a start on. Let the sewing begin!!
